Abstract

Animation news proposed by Next Media becomes
more and more popular because an animation
is adapted to tell the story in a piece of news which
may miss visual and audial circumstances. In order to
fulfill the requirement of creating a 90-second animation
within 2 hours, the artists generally set up those news
elements by adding distinguished details such as tattoos,
scars and textural details to existing 3D objects selected
from their graphics asset database. The detail addition
must be easy to use, efficient and robust without any
modification to the production pipeline and additional
rendering pass. Therefore, our work explores the welldesigned
texture coordinate which already exists in each
model from the database to stitch extra details onto the
existing textures with a cube-based interface. The designed
algorithm has been integrated into the pipeline of Next
Media to accelerate animation production and the results
are satisfied
